Election Day Sales aside...

Today is a very important day. It is an extremely important election. It doesn't just come down to the choice of the person or party. These candidates are very different. You can argue that their foreign policies are very alike and that it is especially disappointing when it comes to Obama (drone strikes killing innocents, including American citizens, massive deportations of illegal immigrants, almost unconditional support of Israel, lagging with ending once and for all the Afganistan and Iraq wars, inability to close Guantanamo, etc).

Only in America: Election Day SALE!

Only in America -- there is an Election Day Sale.
Now I'm really fearful about the outcome of this election... What if everybody goes shopping instead of voting, Macy's?
Or maybe, to be naively optimistic, it will remind people of the election and, while in town, after their shopping, they're going to be in a good enough mood to go vote?
And, on top of that, they will vote... wisely?

Stop Wishing, Go Fishing!

There is a fine line between envisioning success and daydreaming about it... The former is a motivator and a motor for your journey that you have to go through before you actually achieve your goals. The latter is a potential killer. It will kill your motivation, kill your need to actively pursue your dreams... Daydreaming is dangerous, as it takes you to the final destination, makes you feel like you're already there in your mind, even though you are just at the starting point in reality. It's a show-stopper and deal-breaker.

What is Lapidarium?

is a place (a city square,
a castle courtyard, a patio in a museum)
containing a collection of stones, pieces of sculpture
and fragments of buildings — here a bit of a torso or a hand,
there a piece of a cornice or a column, in a word, parts of a nonexistent
(already, still, ever) whole and posing the problem of what to do with them.

We Learn Something New Every Day...

transplant (n):
1. A plant transplanted from one location to another.
2. An organism moved from one location to another.
3. A person moved/transplanted from one location to another...

Something tells me I'm a transplant, then... For the first time ever I was brought down to the ground, to the level of my food. I guess I shouldn't be offended (I love plants, and eat them exclusively)...

Destiny... Or what?

I was asked the other day what my reasons to come to the US were, and by my response ("Because of my better half!" :-)), I was asked if I would have come here if it wasn't for him... Why, I had this strong and deprived of all doubts feeling that: yes, I would have, no questions about that! (Had I not met him in France, I would have had to somehow find the way that lead to him anyway, non? :-)). If that is true, we will never find out, as I'm here (and not going anywhere else anytime soon).

Trzynastopiatkowa korekte winna jestem...
